ROOT CANAL TREATMENT
More Than Just Pain Relief
The right root canal treatment starts with understanding what is causing the problem inside your tooth.
When the soft tissue inside a tooth becomes infected or inflamed, it can lead to persistent pain, sensitivity and discomfort. If left untreated, the infection may spread and affect the surrounding tissues.
At Aesthetic Advanced Dental, we carefully assess your tooth and use modern diagnostic and treatment techniques to remove the infection, protect the tooth and restore its function.

Care That Goes Beyond the Treatment
ENDODONTIC CARE, WITH YOU IN MIND
Root canal treatment is about more than removing an infection. Our goal is to preserve your natural tooth wherever possible and restore its function so you can return to your normal routine with confidence.
We guide you through each stage of treatment, explain what to expect and monitor your progress to ensure your tooth receives the care it needs.
Technology with a purpose
Modern root canal treatment is designed to make treatment more precise, efficient and comfortable.
Advanced diagnostic tools help us understand the condition of your tooth and identify the extent of infection.
Magnification-assisted treatment allows the dentist to work with greater visibility and precision inside the tooth.
Modern rotary instruments help clean and shape the root canals efficiently while preserving as much healthy tooth structure as possible.
Digital imaging supports diagnosis, treatment planning and evaluation throughout the procedure.
Our recommendation is based on your tooth, the extent of infection and your individual clinical needs — not simply on choosing the most advanced technology.
Is Root Canal Treatment Right for You?
Know When Your Tooth May Need Treatment
Root canal treatment may be recommended when the inner part of a tooth becomes infected or severely inflamed. During your consultation, we assess your symptoms, tooth condition and surrounding tissues before deciding whether root canal treatment is appropriate.
Persistent Tooth Pain
Pain that continues or returns, particularly without an obvious cause, may indicate inflammation or infection inside the tooth.
Look out for:
Persistent toothache • Pain while chewing • Sensitivity to hot or cold
Deep Decay or Infection
When decay reaches the inner part of the tooth, bacteria can affect the pulp and cause inflammation or infection.
Possible signs:
Severe sensitivity • Swelling • Tenderness around the tooth • Changes in the tooth’s appearance
Cracked or Damaged Teeth
A crack or injury can allow bacteria to reach the inner part of the tooth and may eventually lead to infection.
Possible signs:
Pain when biting • Intermittent discomfort • Increased sensitivity
Warning Signs Shouldn’t Be Ignored
Symptoms can vary from person to person, and some infected teeth may not cause significant pain. A dental examination is the best way to determine whether treatment is required.
OUR APPROACH
A Better Way to Preserve Your Natural Tooth
Thoughtful treatment planning, modern technology and careful monitoring — from your first consultation through your final restoration.
01.
Assess
We examine your tooth, symptoms and overall oral health to understand the extent of infection or damage and determine whether root canal treatment is appropriate.
02.
Plan
We explain the condition of your tooth and create a personalised treatment plan based on your clinical needs and long-term oral health.
03.
Treat
We carefully remove the infected tissue, clean and shape the root canals and seal the tooth to help prevent further infection.
04.
Restore & Care
Once the root canal is complete, we restore the tooth appropriately and monitor its condition to help protect it from further damage.
Recovery & Long-Term Care
Comfortable recovery, Long-term care
Root canal treatment is performed to remove infection and preserve your natural tooth. After treatment, some mild soreness or sensitivity may occur for a few days and can generally be managed with the medication recommended by your dentist.
You may be advised to avoid chewing hard foods on the treated tooth until the final restoration has been completed.
A tooth that has undergone root canal treatment may require a crown or other restoration depending on how much tooth structure remains and where the tooth is located.
Once restored, continue regular brushing, flossing and dental check-ups just as you would with your natural teeth.
With appropriate treatment, restoration and ongoing care, a root canal-treated tooth can continue to function normally for many years.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is a root canal painful?
With modern local anaesthesia, you should not feel the procedure itself. Some soreness or sensitivity may occur after treatment, but this is usually temporary and can generally be managed with appropriate medication.
Can I avoid a root canal by just pulling the tooth?
Extraction is an alternative when a tooth cannot be saved, but removing a natural tooth also creates a need to consider replacement options such as an implant or bridge. Where possible, preserving your natural tooth may offer important long-term benefits.
How many visits does root canal treatment take?
Many root canal treatments can be completed in a single visit, while more complex cases may require additional appointments. The number of visits depends on factors such as the tooth involved, the extent of infection and the complexity of the root canals.
What happens if a tooth infection is left untreated?
An untreated infection can worsen and may spread into the tissues around the tooth. Symptoms can sometimes temporarily settle even when the infection remains, so persistent or recurring symptoms should be evaluated by a dentist.
Will I need a crown after a root canal?
Some teeth require a crown or other protective restoration after root canal treatment, particularly when a significant amount of tooth structure has been lost. Your dentist will recommend the appropriate restoration based on the condition and location of your tooth.
